GLN UK & Ireland

A Note of Thanks – Mike Hill

Mike Hill GLN UK and IrelandThis is a ‘goodbye’ message of sorts. Recently I handed over the CEO reins with a certain amount of mixed emotion. My decision to step down was principally for family reasons.

It has been a privilege to serve you through the GLN UKI as CEO – and I look forward to continue doing so in my new role as Church and External Relations Co-ordinator.

In the last year we have all experienced significant changes and adapted ourselves accordingly, as best we can. At GLN, we’ve been pleased to transition into online solutions and greatly encouraged by the response.

In total, since we launched our first webinar in June, 2500 leaders have joined our online community, receiving world-class teaching and participating in group discussions. This has been such a blessing – THANK YOU for taking part.

In addition, you have partnered in the cause and helped raise £30K towards the mission. Whilst there is still a fair way to go towards our target, we acknowledge every donation with a grateful heart. Again, THANK YOU.

And the future looks bright. GLN UKI is in great hands with Roger Fairhead acting as interim CEO and the Board now chaired by Mark Faithfull. Their passion for the cause is without doubt and they have the acumen to deliver on its aim to serve Christian leaders and churches. Be assured, better things are still to come.

For you, I pray that you will continue to cherish God’s call on your life, that you will know His presence with you and live out the purposes He has for you, with great joy and resolve – challenges like this year notwithstanding!

And on those challenges, I urge you to face them with courage and humility, always following the way of Christ. As we discussed at the webinar just the other week, Jesus was a model of living out your ‘Why’.

It behoves me to say, never stop learning. This is what will serve you well and help you lead at your best – staying open, always discerning and constantly aiming higher. Not that this should be an end in itself, of course, but that you may serve with all diligence.

For more on this point, I leave you for now with my most recent blog post (below) which underlines a crucial lesson I hope leaders take to heart.

God bless you and many thanks once again
Mike Hill
