GLN UKI LEADERSHIP WEBINARS

Mike Hill leads a webinar on Staying True: Leading into a Shifting Culture

Helping Leaders Address A Cultural Challenge

This webinar will help you understand and address the culture so you can lead more effectively.

As Christians and churches throughout the UK, we want to make our leadership count and have a transformative influence on our communities. The local church is shining a light and making an impact around the nation, especially in this time of crisis. Yet, even before COVID-19 forced itself on our attention, a cultural change has been gathering pace and escalating in its viral effect on the Christian faith. Starkly put, the shift of culture in the UK is away from Christian faith. If it remains uncontended, the light of the UK church could be all but extinguished in decades to come.

Our influence matters:

  • We need courage – we cannot avoid the issue hoping that it will resolve itself in the process of time
  • We need focus – we cannot allow more immediate, local challenges distract us from what we must do
  • We need clarity – we cannot remain confused by the complexities of the changes as they undermine our Christian foundations
5 Critical Thoughts on the Challenge and What We Need to Do

All ministry takes place in a context. Our understanding of the world impacts how we relate to it–if we don’t have a good read on the culture, it’s likely that our mission strategy will miss its stated aim. As a result, we will feel increasingly alienated and out of touch–in a foreign land.

In this session, Mike Hill will work through the challenges and look at how to contend for the faith in a way that doesn’t alienate but leads to healthy and holistic growth.

Specifically, in an interview format, Mike will explore 5 critical thoughts on cultural awareness and influence:

  1. The good and bad aspects of our recent cultural heritage
  2. The most serious threat to Christianity in the UK today
  3. Why Christian leaders must now engage and commit to influencing the culture for good
  4. What courageous leadership does and doesn’t look like for Christians and churches in this time
  5. With leadership development now on churches’ agendas, another important area remains unaddressed

Prepare your questions for the Q&A discussion with Mike, hosted by GLN UKI Chairman, Roger Fairhead. Get ready to be equipped and inspired in your leadership.
